Do I need a referral to see a specialist?

Yes, a valid referral is required for a rebate from Medicare. Referrals from specialists are valid for three months, while those from your GP are valid for 12 months. Please send your referral to info@sswspecialists .com.au to confirm your appointment.

A referral is not strictly necessary to see an allied health professional but you may want to discuss this with your GP.

What are the consultation fees?

Fees are determined by individual practitioners and everyone is different. To learn about the fee for your specific circumstances, please call us at (02) 4607 2526.

Will I receive a rebate?

Yes, with a valid referral and Medicare card, you are likely eligible for a Medicare rebate. Note that private health insurance policies do not cover clinic appointments, but may provide rebates for procedures performed in a private hospital. How long will my appointment take?

As a guide, initial visits take between 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your health complexities. Follow-up visits take 15 to 20 minutes and are usually required to discuss test results and monitor your condition. Please note, in rare cases, unforeseen emergencies may cause delays. Also each practitioner is different so if it’s important for you to know make sure to ask our staff when booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to allow other patients to take your slot. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in no further appointments being provided. If you are late by more than ten minutes, your appointment will need to be rescheduled. Please call (02) 4607 2526 to discuss any concerns or rescheduling needs.
